Inline silencers and splitter silencers belong to the group of absorption silencers. Absorption silencers are used to reduce the increase in noise level in pipework when gases and vapours are drawn in or blown out. They are particularly suitable for reducing airborne noise in the medium frequency range. Throttle silencers are used to reduce the pressure of gases and vapours while reducing noise, for example when expanding pressure vessels, autoclaves or pipelines.
